Year 7 ready to go to Winmarleigh!

Exhibition and The Hepworth

Tuesday 30th September and some lucky Year 13 Art and Design students got a chance to go to their first ever Private View of a new art exhibition at The Hepworth in Wakefield.

Called Conflict and Collision, they saw an amazing range of work.  They got to meet up again with Natalie Walton, Head of Learning at the Hepworth. Dr Abigail Harrison-Moore head of School for Art History and Museum Studies at the University of Leeds, gave them tips for their personal statements too.  The highlight was when they got to talk to Toby Ziegler, one of the artists in the exhibition, about his work.

Race for Life

25 of our year 9 students have been involved in a program called living for sport, run by Sky Tv. They have learnt some leadership skills and how sport can be a medium to success. The final challenge was to organise an event. They decided to link up with the new Dixons school Marchbank Primary and organise a ‘race for life’. The students prepared an assembly, allocated jobs and then ran it on the day.
